The San Francisco 49ers are shocked by the sudden resignation of their respected quarterbacks coach, Brian Griese. After three great seasons with the team, his unexpected departure has left a big impact on the organization and has sparked shocking reactions from fans.
Brian Griese, a former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst, joined the 49ers as a coach in 2022. He helped develop young quarterbacks, including Brock Purdy, who led the team to consecutive NFC Championship Game appearances in 2022 and 2023.
Since he played such a big role in the team’s success, fans were surprised that he wasn’t coming back. But reports say it was Griese’s own choice to step away from coaching.

According to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, Griese has resigned from his position as the 49ers’ quarterbacks coach under Kyle Shanahan. Fans were quick to react to this sudden news.
I’m not going to sit here and speculate as to why Brian Griese decided to leave the 49ers, but I’m fairly confident it’s due to the excessive amount of boba shops in the Bay Area. Stop the fucking boba spread. Enough already.

Shoutout to Brian Griese. I thought that was going to be the most trash signing ever and he was genuinely great. 49ers Legend.

Dumbass #49ers fans keep looking for drama where there is none. They either want to believe, or are afraid, that things are bad behind the scenes.

The man is complete. He’s mission accomplished. He’s done because he wants to move into a new phase of life. THAT’S NORMAL. #fttb https://t.co/IUHLk4ak5A
John Lynch reveals why Brian resigned from the 49ers
49ers GM John Lynch recently explained why Brian Griese left his coaching job. He clarified the confusion surrounding the sudden move in a media talk on Wednesday.
Lynch said Griese decided to step away to spend more time with his family. When he took the job as quarterbacks coach in 2022, he only planned to stay for three years.

“I think family and certain other things. I don’t want to speak for Brian, but other things were pulling at him and respect that he made a tough decision but one he thought was best for him and his family,” Lynch said.
Reporter Eric Branch also shared that Griese found it hard to be away from his wife and kids in Denver while coaching in San Francisco.
