Panthers’ RB Miles Sanders stuns NFL community by labelling teammate QB Andy Dalton as a future Hall of Famer

After getting drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles as the 53rd overall pick in the second round in the 2019 NFL Draft, veteran wide receiver Miles Sanders enrolled himself in the Carolina Panthers roster after signing a four-year, $25.4 million deal in the free agency period.

The football star is doing his level best to earn a place in his new teammate’s hearts by delivering high praises about them. Recently, he sent shockwaves in the NFL world by declaring the Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton as a future Hall of Famer. Both Sanders and Dalton have never joined hands as teammates and both are new members in Carolina.

Miles Sanders claims QB Andy Dalton is a future Hall of Famer

The Panthers Dalton currently holds a 42.23 mark in the Pro Football Reference Hall of Fame Monitor. During appearing on Thursday’s episode of WFNZ’s Mac & Bone, Miles heaped praise on his young teammates following Carolina’s recent OTA and declared his QB as a ‘future Hall of Famer’.

“I have a good feeling about these guys. These guys work, and that’s the main thing I’ve noticed in OTAs. We got a very, very good young quarterback that’s being mentored by a very, very, very good quarterback, a future Hall of Famer Andy Dalton—who I have a lot of respect for.”

The Panthers’ quarterback currently ranks 24th all-time in passing yards (38,150), and nine players ranked before him have already made their name in the Hall of Fame list, including Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Warren Moon, Dan Marino, John Elway, Johnny Unitas, Frank Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, and Joe Montana.

Another potential nine HOF ranked ahead of him, namely Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Russell Wilson.

The RB also raved about the Panthers’ 32-year-old wide receiver Thielen as well as revealed how he is loving the O-line and D-line of his new destination.

“And you got guys like Adam Thielen mentoring the young receivers, and that’s a great guy to take notes from. We got a seasoned o-line that I love—I love the film, I love watching their film. And the defense is stacked.”

NFL community reacts to Miles Sanders’ HOF claims

The NFL community began their as usual job of scrutinizing the player’s situation following Sander’s HOF claim in favor of his teammate.

One netizen said it was the funniest claim he ever heard from any NFL player.

According to Pro Football Reference’s Weighted Career Approximate Value metric, the three-time Pro Bowl selection is credited with “the fifth-best career of any quarterback selected outside of the first round in the 21st Century.”

However, a user said if the Panthers QB is a Hall of Famer, the league might need to create a new Hall of Fame.

Some users hilariously took shots at the WR saying he made the statement in the influence of drugs.

A person mentioned only the Buffalo Bills fans only label Carolina stars as HOF.

Andy has a record of 83-77-2 throughout his 12 seasons career in the NFL. He threw for 38,150 yards, and 244 touchdowns as well as had 144 interceptions with a 0-4 career postseason record. Hence, a netizen pointed out he might be underrated in the league but not a HOF.
