With Lionel Messi gone, Kylian Mbappe rumored to leave, Neymar drop major update on PSG future: “There isn’t much love”

The departure of Lionel Messi sent shockwaves across the PSG supporters, and it was followed by another blow as Kylian Mbappe announced that he will not be renewing his contract which is due to end in 2024. With the departure of these high-profile players, the club’s hierarchy faces a challenge to hold Neymar for the upcoming season.

In contrast to Les Bleus captain, Neymar signed a contract extension with PSG till 2027. During the recent interview, the Brazilian reiterated his desire to stay with the French giants and help them win the first Champions League trophy in the club’s history.

Neymar discusses rumored PSG exit

Back in 2017, the French giants signed the Brazilian superstar for a record $244 million from the Catalan club, marking the most expensive transfer fee ever paid for a player. In 2021, after a stay of 4 years in the city of Paris, Neymar signed a contract extension until 2027, putting an end to speculation about his future. Despite interest from several European clubs like Chelsea and Juventus, the Brazilian superstar has reiterated multiple times that he has set his sights on finishing his career at the Parc des Princes.

In a recent interview with Caze TV, the 31-year-old superstar expressed his desire to stay at PSG. Neymar said “I hope it’s at PSG (next season). I have a contract, no one has informed me of anything.” He added “Even if there isn’t much love between the fans & the player, I will be there (at PSG), with love or without love

Kylian Mbappe rumored to move to Real Madrid

The French giants PSG signed the mercurial young talent from their rivals AS Monaco for a record transfer fee of $158 million plus $38 million in add-ons, which went on to be the most expensive transfer for a teenager. After the heartbreak in Qatar, the immediate club future of Kylian Mbappe remains uncertain as the French superstar has made his intentions evident to the PSG hierarchy.

After having come close to landing Kylian Mbappe at the Bernabeu for the past few years, it looks like the Los Blancos are going to have another shot at it. The French captain told Gazzetta dello Sport “I didn’t ask to leave PSG or to join Real Madrid. I just told the club that I won’t activate the option to extend the contract until June 2025. We never discussed a new deal with PSG but I’m happy to stay here next season.

With every passing day of the transfer window, the poker games between the clubs are just getting a lot more interesting. The recent comments of the Brazilian superstar have sparked debates among the Parisian supporters, with some wanting him to stay and others hoping for his departure.
