The latest edition of NXT stunned the WWE Universe as the company tries to recreate a historic moment from their history. This moment also feels like nostalgia for many Attitude Era fans as this took place between former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and her upcoming opponent Blair Davenport.
The segment between these two also generated a very positive reaction among fans as the NXT Universe now really seemed to be hyped for their feud and the upcoming twist in their storyline.
Ex-NXT champ Roxanne Perez knocks out Blair Davenport
A taped segment was aired on the recent edition of the third brand. The video took place in a grocery store, where Roxanne Perez and Davenport engaged in a brawl. For those unaware, previously Davenport had mocked Roxanne’s health issues, including her anxiety. However, in the video, Perez was shown assaulting Davenport throughout the entire grocery store.

After seeing that segment, the WWE Universe was hit with nostalgia as it resembled a historical segment between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Booker T. During this iconic segment, Stone Cold also dragged the WWE Hall of Famer all around the grocery store, using various items from the store to his advantage.

For those unaware, the upcoming premium live event of NXT is set to feature a clash between Perez and Davenport. This feud started during the battle royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship, which took place back on June 6. During the match, Davenport showed up ringside and called out the former NXT Women’s Champion. They both started a brawl, which ultimately cost Roxanne her title opportunity.
Later, on an episode of NXT, Perez defeated Paxley and, after emerging victorious, she challenged Davenport for the match. They had a showdown on the July 4 episode of the third brand, and Davenport defeated Roxanne in a singles bout. However, after their interview segment, the company announced a rematch for The Great American Bash 2023.
It will be interesting to see whether Perez will be able to defeat Davenport in their rematch or not at the Great American Bash 2023.
