Chicago Bulls point guard, Lonzo Ball has been in recovery for a long time ever since he injured himself in the knee during a game against Golden State Warriors. Following his injury popular sports journalist and analyst Stephen A. Smith made some comments about his injury which seemingly upset the star back in August.
Steven A. Smith is known for his hot takes about the stars in the NBA community. He has been prevalent over social media platforms and also makes several appearances as an NBA analyst for ESPN on SportsCenter. The feud between Lonzo and Smith started when Steve claimed Lonzo’s injury to be very severe and the point guard for the Bulls would miss the 2023-24 season. These claims were shot down by Lonzo Ball as fake news.
Lonzo Ball rips into Stephen A. Smith
Lonzo Ball recently rips into Stephen A. Smith and his claims by announcing that he is going to play again. In a tweet by NBC Sports Chigao Lonzo Bulls has commented on his future saying, “ I am going to play again.” This announcement came just after some time when Steven A. Smith posted a video featuring himself on X (formerly Twitter) captioned “ I’ve made some mistakes, we all have.”

In this video, he does not talk about his mistake in the Lonzo Ball feud but instead is a video of him talks about several of the instances where he has failed to conduct himself as a true analyst. On the other hand, another tweet by NBA Central elaborated on Balls’ statement that he going to play again.
It features Lonzo Ball saying, “The outside noise doesn’t bother me. The Stephen A. thing has a wide platform.” Ball further explained, “And to me, I just don’t appreciate when people put out fake news like that.” The Chicago Bulls star point guard silenced Stephen A. Smith and indicated that his words don’t matter, he is just concerned that Smith has a huge following and should know better than putting out fake news.

Stephen A. Smith’s online exchange with the Bulls star
Ever since the start of the feud between Smith and Ball in August, both have had a lot of online exchanges between them. When Smith commented about Ball having a severe knee injury and trouble standing up and sitting down on ESPN’s “First Take”, Lonzo Ball responded by posting a video of him doing the same actions the journalist said Ball was having trouble with.
Ball also informed his fans that he was healthy and would be back on court soon. Smith did not take the Bulls star’s response very nicely and still criticized him on “First Take”, the journalist even claimed that Ball’s doctors were his sources. Ball responds by saying that Smith was “not a doctor”, “lying” and that he was “tired of the disrespect.”
These exchanges have calmed down lately and since Lonzo Ball is returning to the court soon and Stephen A. Smith has apologized for his actions, this feud seems to have been concluded for now.
