AEW’s Jake Hager makes plans involving Roman Reigns public, claims that “Tribal Chief” acknowledges surprising fact

Everyone has their eyes set on the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns nowadays. Having a target on the back comes with the territory, as the Tribal Chief is sitting at the top of the wrestling industry.

LA Knight and Bad Bunny were the notable two who laid down a challenge to the Tribal Chief recently, but wrestlers from other promotions are also joining the act. Some surprising comments were made over the weekend by ex-WWE superstar Jack Swagger, AKA Jake Hager, in AEW.

Jake Hager claims he’d “kick Roman’s b*tt”

Jake Hager had a relatively successful career in WWE, winning the prestigious World Heavyweight Title by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract, United States Championship, and the ECW Championship. He left WWE to compete in MMA and concluded his stint with a 3-0 record in Bellator, along with one bout that ended with no contest.

Wrestling enthusiasts have debated whether the in-ring action is scripted and whether the wrestlers would fare well in a real fight. Matt Riddle fired shots at Roman Reigns a couple of years ago, claiming he could beat Reigns in a real fight, even though he was employed by WWE at the time.

In a recent virtual session with K & S WrestleFest, the former world champion Jake Hager revealed his ambitions after his WWE stint. He stated, “When I left WWE, my plan was to go into MMA, become really good, stay undefeated, and then return to WWE to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. I’d kick Roman’s butt. He knows it, I know it. If you want to tell him that, tell him that.”

Roman Reigns’ SmackDown return date

Roman Reigns, who hasn’t been seen on WWE television for several weeks, has left the WWE Universe speculating about his return to WWE programming. The Bloodline has been in a feud with AJ Styles in recent weeks, raising the possibility of a future match between the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and The Phenomenal One AJ Styles.

It seems like John Cena has come into the fold after he joined forces with AJ Styles to fight Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. With a rumored tag-team match between the two teams at Fastlane, it seems like Roman will appear after that. It was confirmed that he was advertised to feature on the 27th October edition of SmackDown in time for the build-up to Crown Jewel in November

The question of how professional wrestlers would fare against MMA fighters in real fights has sparked much debate. While some wrestlers like Brock Lesnar found success in MMA, others like CM Punk faced challenges.
