18-year-old Czech tennis player Linda Noskova experienced joy as she trounced home favourite Himeno Sakatsume in the first round of the Japan Open. However, the 2021 French Open girls’ singles champion underwent an problematic experience after her exit in the next round, one that often plagues young female tennis players on the professional circuit.
The internet has several beneficial traits, but hate mongering and trolling is not one of them. When tennis players keep tab on their fans’ messages, for example, they put themselves in the danger of reading unceremonious texts.
Linda Noskova discloses shocking hate message
After her loss in the second round, Linda Noskova took to Instagram to reveal a troll’s harsh and spiteful message to her. The messages were needlessly dark in nature, attacking Linda on completely unrelated fronts.
She took the whole situation lightly, as seen by her caption. ‘Dude’, she wrote with a clap and a crying out of laughter emoji.
Messages that are hurled at athletes, who play under the critical eyes of an opinionated public, often can hurt their mental state and many athletes have retired due to the stress of playing high-profile events.
Players like Ashleigh Barty have retired from tennis at their prime, due to their unwillingness to live in the spotlight. Celebrities worldwide face this issue of trolling and have raised awareness through campaigning and choosing to avoid social media to aid their wellbeing.
The issue is endemic to a famous person’s life and and produces unwanted stress and mental trouble that can be avoided and handled if authorities take a hard stance on trolling.
Linda Noskova beaten by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova
Linda Noskova faced Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the second round of the Japan Open. She had to quickly come to terms with her opponent’s fierce game as the Russian ran out victor in the first set.
Noskova rallied back to win the second but by the time the third set arrived, she had drained her repertoire of strokes to challenge Anastasia. She was delivered a bagel by the Russian, who won 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 in a tough match that had a lopsided finish to it.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is set to play Ekaterina Alexandrova in the quaterfinals. Ekaterina defeated 7th seed and defending champion Liudmila Samsonova in the previous round.
Linda Noskova will look to bounce back in the upcoming WTA tour events that take place during the course of 2023’s year-end hard court season.
