Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada is under scrutiny due to the team’s poor performance this season. Unexpectedly, the Steelers have been performing below expectations and the coach of the team is held accountable.
This has led to a lot of social media trolls where fans and critics are openly criticizing the coach’s poor job with the team. Amid this controversial situation, there’s speculation that Matt Canada might have used a “burner” social media account to defend himself anonymously.
Does Matt Canada have a burner social media account?
A burner account is a fake account that celebrities often make for themselves to keep their online activities private. Matt Canada is also accused of having a burner account, which he uses to write positive things about himself.
Fans believe they discovered a secret burner account named @DannyFootball77, which posted positive messages about Matt Canada despite fan criticism.
The burner account user also doesn’t follow anyone and just writes positive things about the coach or the Steelers, which makes this account more suspicious.
After that, another fan claimed that when he attempted to reset the account’s password he found an email address associated with it, which raised suspicions.
“I went through the ‘forgot password’ process for the account, and just look at the email address associated with it…,”
The initials of the email address seem like it is something like ‘Matt Canada’ and ‘Steelers.’ It is still not confirmed whether it is the coach’s account or not but all the evidence points towards him.
Steelers performances so far in this year’s NFL season
The Steelers are unfortunately not the best team this season or we can say they are below average. The team has struggled this season, averaging only 15.5 points per game and ranking poorly in offensive categories.
Fans are frustrated with Canada’s performance and have called for his firing. They believe that the coach has not done the right job which has resulted in poor performance in the regular season.
Head coach of the team Mike Tomlin hinted at significant changes and said they would take the necessary steps to improve the team’s performance but indicated that Canada’s job is safe for now.
“Hell yeah we’ve got to make some changes,” Tomlin said. He assured fans that they were going to work to get a positive outcome.
“That was an ugly product we put out there today, and so we’re not going to do the same things and hope for a different outcome. What those changes are, we’ll put together a plan in preparation this week.”
The Steelers’ first-quarter drives this season have yielded minimal success, with only one touchdown, four first downs, four turnovers, and three punts.
Fans are frustrated with Matt Canada and after the Burner account rumors, the criticism has doubled. Fans are mocking the coach for steeping so low and using a fake account to defend himself.
However, the coach hasn’t said anything about this matter. So, for now, it remains unclear whether Matt Canada is using a burner account or fans are just exaggerating everything.
