Boxing fans have been eagerly awaiting a fight in the heavyweight division between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. However, due to multiple different reasons, the fight keeps falling through during the negotiation stages.
This time, the bout may not be able to take place as Anthony Joshua may have to fight Filip Hrgovic for the heavyweight title. However, this cannot be confirmed as of now, as the rankings have yet to be updated. A clear decision can be made after the rankings have been updated.
Is Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder bout at risk dues to Filip Hrgovic?
The much awaited bout between Anthony Joshua and Deonta wilder may once again be put on hold as there is a chance that AJ may have to fight Filip Hrgovic for the heavyweight title, which has upset a few boxing fans as they have been waiting to see AJ step in with wilder, but the fight keeps falling out.
Eddie said this in a recent statement relating to the above, “That news changes things, the goal is to become a three-time world champion and that would allow us to do that. The Wilder fight is much bigger, but the Hrgovic fight comes with a world title – that will always take priority.”

If this fight does take place, it would be given priority over the wilder fight which would upset a lot of fans as the fight was so close to being confirmed as Eddie even said that they had a virtual agreement on it.

This made Anthony Joshua fans in particular very sad, as at one point AJ was at the top of his career doing the best in the division and now due to a few losses his name doesn’t hold value much as it used to hold.
