Chris Eubanks Jr.’s coach, who has previously coached Terrence Crawford, is viewed by many as one of the best cornermen in the world. Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre has been charged and detained in custody after security officials found a loaded gun and ammunition in a suitcase.
Following the discovery of the armed gun and ammunition, Eubank’s coach was consequently arrested on Sunday morning. Now the coach, who has coached Terrence Crawford, is set to appear at the Manchester Crown Court for the proceedings.

Chris Eubanks Jr.’s coach was arrested at the Manchester airport when the alarm was raised while scanning the baggage with a loaded firearm. Upon the revelation of the handgun in the scanner, police officers, armed with their guns, descended on the departure lounge at Terminal 2 and arrested 53-year-old McIntyre, who was due to fly to Atlanta, for possession of a firearm.
He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody until October 9 ahead of an appearance in court. The official statement from the Manchester police read: “At around 10.45 am on Sunday, September 3, 2023, officers were called to reports of a possible firearm being found in hold luggage by airport staff at Manchester Airport. After initial inspection by security staff, GMP officers attended, and the firearm was seized. Subsequently, a man has been arrested for possession of a firearm and remains in custody for further questioning.”
A follow-up statement from the Greater Manchester police on Tuesday read: “Brian McIntyre (01/07/1970) from the United States of America was charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.”
Chris Eubank Jr.’s coach was scheduled to fly from Manchester to Atlanta. McIntyre attended Stockport Magistrates Court on the morning of September 6, where he was further remanded into custody. He is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Chris Eubanks Jr.’s reaction on Brain McIntyre’s arrest
Following the arrest of his boxing coach, Chris Eubanks Jr. broke his silence saying that he could not talk much about the incident because of all the legal work going on right now. Eubanks continued to say that the team hopes that they can get McIntyre out of jail and get him where he’s supposed to be.
Chris further went on to focus more on his relationship with his boxing coach. Eubanks appreciated his coach and said that he is a great trainer. He further compared McIntyre with his former coach, Roy Jones, and threw some shade on the former coach.
Eubanks later clarified that Roy Jones was just one man who didn’t have a team. Whereas McIntyre has a whole team, a separate man for strength and conditioning, a different man for nutrition, and multiple pad men. As of now, Chris Eubanks Jr.’s coach remains in custody till further court hearing.
