Since club football is on a halt, Manchester United can take a break from their hectic and disappointing season under the Dutch manager, Eric Ten Hag. Apart from their poor form, they are also dealing with off-field issues that has caused significant turmoil within the club.
In 2022, the former Ajax boss was appointed as the new manager at Old Trafford. Now, Ten Hag is under immense pressure and has been criticized due to the club’s performance and his stiff approach to the players.
Erik ten Hag’s feud with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho
Manchester United is experiencing a tough start, having lost 6 games in 11 matches across all competitions this season. Ten Hag has faced wide criticism regarding his conduct and actions. In addition to failing to deliver positive outcomes, the Red Devils are currently in the 10th position in the Premier League.
In the UEFA Champions League campaign after returning to the competition this season, they have faced defeats in their first two matches against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray respectively. Consequently, the English side are now at the bottom of the table in group A.
Recently, former Manchester United forward Alan Brazil claimed that some players are unhappy with their Dutch boss Ten Hag, citing concerns about his management style, especially regarding a few players. It appears that the boss has lost the favor of the dressing room.
Alan Brazil claimed, “This is what I’ve been hearing… from a Man United player who told someone I know very well, He said the players are not having the manager. They’re not having him at all.”
He added, “By all accounts, they are disgusted by the way he treated Ronaldo – and they say Sancho is a great guy who works his socks off.”
In January Cristiano Ronaldo ‘mutually’ terminated his contract with Manchester United and was furious with Ten Hag’s treatment as voiced in his notorious interview with Piers Morgan. Recently similar case occurred with Jadon Sancho who’s been out from first-team action for a month after his refusal to apologize for his action.
Update on Jadon Sancho’s situation after exile from Manchester United
The English winger’s situation didn’t improve as his terms with the manager, Ten Hag remain strained, showing no signs of improvement in the relationship between the player and manager. Jadon Sancho is still out of the team and might eye an exit in January.
Reportedly, Juventus want to bring the 23-year-old, winger to Turin on a loan deal and then sign him permanently, the Italian giants are ready to pay half wages on a loan stint, eventually placing a £60 million deal next summer to land him in Serie A.
