Emma Raducanu has had to endure a lull on the tennis court ever since she injured her wrists and ankles. Multiple surgeries to correct her carpal bosses led to her missing out on most of 2023’s major tournaments, and she has had to resort back to the basics to effectively stage a comeback.

Injuries in tennis aren’t uncommon, with fellow players like Carlos Alcaraz himself having to recover from cramps after his French Open loss to Novak Djokovic. Whilst Emma’s injuries have plagued most of her nascent career, Alcaraz feels the Brit is on the right path.

Among the people who liked the post, it was Alcaraz’s support of her efforts to stage a comeback that has gotten social media abuzz. Alcaraz is enduring tough times in his effort to regain his world no.1 ranking from Djokovic and finish the year on a high, after US Open, Davis Cup and Shanghai Open exits. In Emma Raducanu’s case, after entering the top 10 in early 2022, she suffered a few losses that pushed her to world no.75 at the end of the year. Nevertheless, expectations were high for the Brit to regain lost ground. The injury sustained in early 2023 and the subsequent break from tennis has made her lose crucial WTA points from major tournaments and has led her to slip down the WTA rankings in a dramatic fashion.

Currently ranked world no.282, it will take exceptional performances at Masters 1000 and 500 tournaments along with good grand slam runs for Emma Raducanu to get back among the top 50 or 30.

Her first priority would be to see herself playing consistently over the course of the following few years without any injuries hampering her performance. After that is taken care of, she could focus on going the distance in major tournaments.
