WWE Rumors: The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 is unlikely, Vince McMahon didn’t voluntarily quit creative

The Rock shocked the world after appearing on SmackDown after so long. He was involved in a segment with Austin Theory and Pat McAfee which was critically acclaimed by the fans. The Rock also shared a moment with his old rival John Cena which was also wholesome to watch.

Since then, the rumor mill has gone into overdrive with speculations surrounding a much-anticipated match between The Rock and Roman Reigns to decide who’s The Tribal Chief once and for all. But it’s unlikely the match is going to happen at WrestleMania 40.

Rumors of The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 are very unlikely

It came as a huge surprise when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed on The Pat McAfee Show that the match between him and Roman Reigns was locked for WrestleMania 39. It didn’t happen for some reason and WWE proceeded with Cody Vs. Reigns main eventing WrestleMania 39. Cody wasn’t able to complete the story but it was almost certain that he’ll go on to face Roman Reigns again at WrestleMania 40 and finally complete the story.

But these plans quickly looked to be in trouble after The Rock’s appearance on SmackDown which increased chances of him facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Now it seems like the battle between 2 cousins won’t happen with reports coming out that currently there are no plans due to Dwayne Johnson’s commitment to multiple Hollywood projects.

It’s not in the hands of The Rock and even if it was, the prior commitments have made it difficult that he’ll be available for The Biggest Event of the Calander Year.

Real reason behind Vince McMahon quitting WWE creative revealed

Vince McMahon had full control over WWE spanning over 3 decades and was the most powerful person in the company with a lot of content being produced on WWE programming being a direct result of Vince. After some threatening allegations came up against him over 2 years ago, he delegated control of the company to his daughter Stephanie McMahon and Triple H took the creative division.

Since then, WWE has been on a roll with record-breaking attendances at the weekly shows and Premium Live Events. The quality of the product has drastically improved and everyone is happy that Triple H is in the driver’s seat. Although Vince McMahon came back to the company shortly after the controversy, he lost most of his power after the WWE and UFC merger under TKO Holdings.

WWE

There had been rumors backstage and Vince McMahon was once again directly influencing the TV product which was negatively impacting the morale of the locker room. But the CEO of Endeavor, Ari Emanuel, has given Triple H the final say over the creative direction of the company. Not many people are too unhappy with this decision as the creative input from Vince was questionable and it seems that his time has come to fully delegate control of the company.

Now that it’s clear that Vince McMahon didn’t voluntarily step away from the creative, will he force his way back into creative decisions for WWE again? Discuss in the comments.
