Kayla Nicole became very good friends with Patrick Mahomes and his wife during her relationship with Travis Kelce. Although the couple broke up, she was still following the Mahomes couple, as she shared a very close bond with Brittany.
However, last month, she unfollowed both of them, raising speculations about what had happened between them. Nicole has now spoken out about why she unfollowed them and her surprise at the media attention.
Nicole explained that the situation is more complex than it appears. She emphasized that she knows these individuals personally and has communicated with them privately about her decision to unfollow them.
“I do think it’s important to publicly address this because I did publicly unfollow people,” Nicole said. “The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made.”
She clarified that real-life relationships don’t abruptly end after a breakup, and she maintains ongoing relationships with all parties involved.
“To everyone it’s like, ‘Oh, you broke up a year ago,’ and that meant it’s like a light switch, you turn it on and off and everything goes dead and black and you don’t ever speak to anyone ever again. That’s not reality. I have ongoing relationships with all parties involved.”
Nicole and Brittany have had recent conversations, and Nicole still cares about her. She acknowledged the importance of addressing the situation publicly because of her actions. Nicole expressed that she needs to protect herself amidst rapid and public developments.
“She knows that I love her. That’s a lot of history and friendship there, that doesn’t change overnight,” she continues. “But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That’s really all that is. The love is still there.”
Despite any changes, Kayla Nicole emphasized that her love for her Kansas City community remains strong.
Why did Travis Kelce break up with Kayla Nicole?
Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole first broke up in August 2020, with Kelce confirming the breakup. Rumors suggested that Kelce cheated on Nicole, which he denied. They reconciled in November 2020.
In May 2022, the couple broke up again. Some reports allege that the split was due to Travis Kelce making Nicole pay for “half of everything” during their relationship.
