Due to the physical nature of professional wrestling, injuries are common. Two months ago, a WWE superstar sustained an injury on stage and has remained out of the public eye since. Recently, an update on his injuries revealed that he underwent surgery. The injured superstar is Erik from The Viking Raiders.
His last appearance on WWE Main Event was on September 11, and he hasn’t been cleared to compete since the injury. He shared information about his injuries with his followers just a day ago, and already, the WWE Universe has shown an outpouring of well-wishes for his swift recovery. Additionally, Erik provided an update on his health and ongoing treatment.
Erik of Viking Raiders out with long-term injury
The Viking Raiders’ tenure in WWE has been plagued by injuries, but they have recently made a comeback with a new approach. During an eight-man tag team match against “The Hurt Business,” Ivar sustained an injury while attempting a suicide dive. Given the significant risk of neck injuries in the professional wrestling industry, fans are hoping for Erik’s swift recovery.
He had C6/C7 fusion surgery and expressed gratitude to the medical staff. He made light of his anticipated “cybernetic upgrades” in an Instagram post. It’s unfortunate to see Erik get hurt; it seems like he’ll be out of action for some time. He seems to be making progress in his rehabilitation, which is good news.
WWE is adopting a novel approach by promoting Ivar as a singles combatant on the red brand, while Erik recovers from his injuries. This will work as a substitution instead of their tag-team absence.
Ivar set for fatal-4-way match next week on WWE RAW
On WWE RAW on November 6, there are some exciting events scheduled involving the WWE Intercontinental Championship. During the October 30 broadcast, several celebrities expressed their interest in competing for the prestigious title. Next week, a fatal four-way match will determine Gunther’s next opponent.
It was announced that The Miz, Bronson Reed, and Ivar all want to compete for the Intercontinental Title. Also, Adam Pearce gave Ricochet another shot at the championship following his contentious defeat to Dominik Mysterio.
Gunther appeared on Miz TV on this week’s Raw, but the two of them had a heated argument over how severe the problem really was. Miz gave a fiery promo in response, and a fight broke out when Imperium interrupted Miz TV.
Despite his struggles, Erik has a huge following behind him. All the prayers and wishes would help him return to the ring soon. Since he cannot do so for now, what is your opinion regarding Ivar’s next week’s match for championship qualification? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
