Corey Graves has emerged as one of the rising talents to come out of WWE over the past decade. While his wrestling career didn’t take off, he has found significant success as a commentator, and it’s safe to say he’ll continue calling matches on WWE television for years to come.
He and Carmella form one of WWE’s power couples, being married and expecting a child. Despite Corey Graves thriving now, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the RAW commentator.
Graves revealed sending “lovey-dovey” message to Vince
Vince is somewhat feared inside the company or we can say ‘was’ feared as he has less power in WWE after the merger with UFC by Endeavor. Maintaining a good relationship with top figures in the wrestling industry has always been crucial for a successful career, as exemplified by John Cena and The Undertaker. However, the wrestler-turned-commentator, Corey Graves, once feared he had jeopardized his career after mistakenly sending a “lovey-dovey” text to Vince McMahon instead of his wife Carmella.
Graves later tweeted that he blamed this embarrassing mishap on jetlag. WWE superstars travel extensively around the world, and their schedules are incredibly demanding, often involving being on the road for 300 days a year. Jetlag is a very real challenge they face. Any interaction with Vince McMahon carries significant weight, which was evident in Graves’ embarrassment over the accidental text.

Being a commentator for WWE is one of the hardest jobs there is as there is constant micromanagement happening. They strictly stick to the script and during the reign of Vince, he was constantly speaking with the commentary team in their headsets. Michael Cole only missing 3 shows in over 25 years is an incredible feat.
Corey Graves discussed getting yelled at by Vince in a recent interview with TalkSport. He was quoted as, “I’ve been pretty fortunate to have not heard the voice of the great and powerful (Vince McMahon) in a negative manner too often, not to say it’s never happened. I learned to do commentary the way the boss likes commentary done, so as long as I stay on that path it’s fine. It’s when I stray that I get yelled at, every once in a while.”
Corey Graves has been doing a great job over the past years and his input is immense and adds a lot to the overall product. He somewhat plays the role of a heel in the commentary team and no matter who he’s teamed up with, Graves jibes with them. He also had the honor of calling WrestleMania 39 which he says is a masterpiece.
