WWE unlikely to put CM Punk in Survivor Series
WWE was trying to build up a War Games match at the Survivor series for the past few weeks. It was confirmed that Judgement Day will face Team Cody at the War Games match. But there were some rumors going around the WWE that the fifth member of team Cody would be CM Punk, as the event is taking place in Chicago.
But last night on RAW, Cody revealed that Randy will be the fifth member. This clearly says that WWE is not considering CM Punk as a choice for appearing in the Survivor Series, as this was the perfect sport for CM Punk to be added to.
CM Punk left WWE in 2014. He walked out of the company after becoming frustrated with his creative direction and the way he was being used on the show. He also left AEW in 2023 due to an issue on the backstage.
Punk is a controversial guy in both ring and backside. As per some reports, Punk was cleared out by the WWE when he appeared in the Summer Slam in 2023. Besides all this, many fans still think he will show up in the Survivor Series.
Potential opponents CM Punk to fight in WWE
Punk had a great career back in WWE. Punk was drafted for the SmackDown brand in 2008. He won the World Heavyweight Championship in 2008 and the Money in the Bank contract in the same year. He cashed in the contract to win the WWE Championship in 2011.
There were many rumors going around about the possible opponents for CM Punk if he made a return to WWE. Shinsuke Nakamura, also known as the “King of Strong Style,” has been delivering cryptic promos for several weeks now. In these promos, he has been calling out a mysterious opponent, hinting at a potential duel. It will be great if Punk feuds with Nakamura.
Another possible opponent is Rollins. Punk had some bad relationship with the SHIELD in the past, and Rollins is also a World Champion now. It will be a huge hit if Punk challenges Rollins for the title. The last possible opponent is American Nightmare Cody Rhodes. They both have worked together in AEW.
