Former WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler is back after a long hiatus with a significant announcement. Nic Nemeth, also known as Dolph Ziggler, was unfortunately released from WWE after a wave of cuts in September.
Ziggler has maintained a relatively low profile over the past couple of months, which is unsurprising given that the superstar was a member of WWE for nearly two decades. In a week’s time on December 20, Nemeth will have the freedom to wrestle in any company he desires as his 90-day non-compete clause will expire.
Dolph Ziggler announces first match since WWE exit
Ziggler had a pretty good run during his time on WWE, he had been two-time United States Champion, six-time Intercontinental Champion and two-time World Heavyweight champion. Through the 43-year-old had also been all triple championship winner, making him the 22nd WWE superstar to win the triple crown.
In a shocking turn of events, WWE released Dolph Ziggler in a round of cuts on September 21. Even superstars like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena reacted to Dolph Ziggler’s release from WWE. However, Nemeth recently announced that he will return to the ring at WWC (World Wrestling Council) event Euphoria on January 20, in Puerto Rico.
In the video Nemeth said, “Ladies and Gentlemen, it doesn’t get any bigger than this, That’s right, WWC Europhia, Puerto Rico, baby … The most wanted man in professional wrestling today, the hottest free agent, and I am laying it down, baby. I’m laying down a challenge in Puerto Rico for ‘Mr. Ratings’ Ray Gonzalez. You think you can set foot in the ring with me and go toe-to-toe with the best d**n thing going today? … January 20, WWC Euphoria, ‘Mr. Ratings,’ the most wanted man, Nic Nemeth, is coming for you, if you got the guts.”
There were also rumor’s on Dolph Ziggler joining AEW. During an interview, he was asked about who he wants to wrestle and potentially signing with a company like AEW. Dolph Ziggler’s first wrestling match post-WWE has been announced. Nic Nemeth will fight against legendary Puerto Rican wrestler Ray González on Puerto Rico in WWC event Euphoria. The event will take place at Pepín Cestero in Bayamón, on January 20 at 8:00 p.m.

The WWE-UFC merger earlier this year was one of the major reasons that led to several people in WWE to lose their job. WWE released multiple superstars following its merger. Although the round of cuts still stings WWE fans, with the end of December approaching, many of the talents that were released will finally have a chance to return to wrestling for any company of their choice.
Among the former WWE talents who will complete their non-compete clause and be able to work again are Matt Riddle, Mustafa Ali, Riddick Moss, Shelton Benjamin, Aliyah, Rick Boogs, Yulisa Leon, Mace, Mansoor, Top Dolla, Elias, Dabbo-Kato, Quincy Elliot, Shanky, Dana Brooke, and Dolph Ziggler.
Altogether, these talents will likely return in the future with improved performances and records, enhancing their fans’ experience to a whole new level. Nic Nemeth’s match in WWC will be his first since the May 29 episode of “WWE Raw,” where he faced JD McDonagh.
