Mesut Ozil throws brutal dig at Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio’s Arsenal diss: “Older than 25 years”

Mesut Ozil, after destroying defenders on the field for more than a decade, has now shifted his target to celebrities off the field. With almost a century of goals for club and country in his career, Ozil was one of the best players to play for Arsenal and remains committed to the Gunners even if he is not in Arsenal anymore.

Ozil has now taken to social media to defend his beloved Arsenal. One of the best passers in the game, Mesut Ozil just casually passed a brutal dig at Hollywood superstar Leonardo Di Caprio, after the actor threw shade at the Gunners. Ozil’s hilarious reply has left fans in social media holding their guts laughing.

Ozil’s razor-sharp reply to Hollywood star’s Arsenal ignorance

Mesut Ozil has come out to defend and attack at the same time, as the former Germany international posts a savage reply and shuts down Shutter Island actor Leonardo Di Caprio, who is one of the most successful actors in Hollywood.

However, Di Caprio does not seem to be a huge fan of football, or soccer. During an apparent off camera conversation, Di Caprio did not know about Arsenal and was noted asking, “What’s Arsenal?”, which sent many Arsenal fans into affliction.

It took only a few hours for that post to reach the masses as Ozil reposted Di Caprio’s remark in X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “Arsenal Football Club is older than 25 years… so why should he know?”.

The context to Ozil’s reply is Di Caprio’s recent dating history. The Hollywood superstar ended relationships with three of his partners before they turned 25 years old, which inevitably gained traction on social media a few years ago.

How many trophies has Ozil won at Arsenal?

Mesut Ozil instantly turned into a modern day legend in Arsenal after his £42.5m arrival from Real Madrid in 2013. The German spent eight years in North London, scoring 44 times during that period, and also won the FIFA World Cup in 2014 as an Arsenal player.

The 35-year-old set a club record with 19 assists for the Gunners in the 2015–16 Premier League season and won four FA Cups, and a Community Shield while playing in an Arsenal shirt.

After falling down the order in North London, Ozil spent two years in Fenerbahce, and a short period at Istanbul Basaksehir, before announcing his retirement from professional football at 34 years old in March.
