Colby Covington is one of the most patriotic fighters representing the USA in the UFC. In almost all of his entrances, fans have witnessed Covington wearing the flag of America. Even UFC president Dana White is aware of the fact that Colby does all the things for his country only.
Recently, at the last UFC main event of the year, UFC 296, Colby Covington failed for the third time his title shot against Leon Edwards in a 25-minute fight. Covington’s biggest supporter, an ex-president of the USA, Donald Trump, was present in the building, sitting on the side of the cage.
Colby Covington plans to join politics
Covington did survive five rounds after including Leon Edwards’s father in the conversation at UFC 296’s press conference. But the trash-talking Colby Covington believed was a good technique to drain the mind of his opponent, and he is now thinking of using the same skills to give it a shot, not in the ring but in the political field.
Recently, the 35-year-old showed his desire to join politics. Prior to this statement, fans were already anticipating the next move by the former interim champion.
Colby, in the name of the USA, wants to become Governor of Florida, claiming this is his ultimate dream. He also talked about his path ahead and where he wanted to go first.
Colby Covington, during the PBD podcast, showed his desire saying, “I do want to get into politics one day because I want to fight for what I believe in. I want to get into Congress, maybe the Senate, or something like that. Maybe he will be the governor of Florida. That would be my ultimate dream to be the governor of this state.”
But whatever the statement was made by “Chaos,” it didn’t impress the fans, and most of the numbers came against his numbers. The 35-year-old also emphasized full faith in what Donald Trump has done for the country and doesn’t shy away from praising his favorite president at any chance given.
Colby Covington is obsessed with Donald Trump
Once Colby Covington even confessed his obsession with Donald Trump, and said it cost him the match at UFC 296. But “Chaos” won’t stop supporting Trump for whatever he does for the USA. It is not just Colby who admires the ex-UFC president, but many times Donald Trump has also found himself praising the skills of Covington.
One time, the incident was caught on camera when Colby Covington secured the victory against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. Colby showcased his wrestling skills against Masvidal, leading to an easy win against his ex-teammate. After witnessing the win of “Chaos,” Trump couldn’t wait for the press conference to end but decided to make a call to his favorite fighter.
So, according to you, is it right for Colby Covington to call off his MMA career and join politics? Or do you think he needs some real match-up to reassess his skills in MMA and then make a move?
