Sentinels’ Zellsis claims loud fans in Brazil made repeated death threats after the Americas Kickoff Finals

Sentinels’ relationship with Brazilian fans has been a rollercoaster. In 2021, the organization faced backlash after a player’s controversial social media comment criticizing the region. However, they attempted to mend fences in 2023 by acquiring popular Brazilian players Bryan “pANcada” Luna and Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi.

Although pANcada’s benching for Zellsis initially caused some friction with the fanbase, the Sentinels managed to quickly regain momentum, culminating in their victory at the VCT Americas Kickoff, which ultimately led to smoothing things over with the passionate Brazilian community.

Zellsis reveals getting multiple death threats from Brazilian fans

Following his team’s victory in the Grand Finals, Zellsis revealed on a live stream that he received numerous threatening messages from some Brazilian fans after engaging in pre-match.

“I opened up my DMs after the map, and I was honestly shocked,” Zellsis stated. “The amount of messages I saw threatening me and my family was… intense, to say the least.”

This incident wasn’t the first time Zellsis faced online negativity. He previously discussed encountering both positive and negative messages from fans after the Sentinels’ initial loss to LOUD in the VCT Americas event.

Zellsis later clarified his initial comments through a Portuguese social media post, emphasizing the overwhelming support he receives alongside any negativity. He reiterated his commitment to competition and creating positive experiences for himself, his team, and the broader fan base.

While Zellsis and Sentinels may face potential criticism from the global Valorant community due to the incident, both teams remain representatives of VCT Americas and will compete together at Masters Madrid later this month.

Zellsis is shown on a billboard promoting the Sentinels bundle

Following Sentinels’ victory over LOUD in the VCT Americas Kickoff Grand Final, a dark cloud emerged. Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro, known for his energetic personality on the team, became the target of online harassment from a section of the LOUD fanbase. Reports indicate he received death threats after the match.

Zellsis is hated and getting death threats but he hasn’t stopped it here. He came out with this billboard from the sentinels. The image depicts a large billboard advertisement promoting a Valorant in-game bundle for the Sentinels. The prominent feature is the Sentinels logo and the bundle’s signature weapon skin is displayed prominently.
