Revenant Esports has made some changes to their Brawl Stars lineup. The news comes before the start of the monthly qualifiers leading to the 2024 Championship season.
Two new members join Seargent Clash in the eSports team from India. They have remained the top team in the Indian qualifiers since last year. The addition of new personnel aims to bolster the squad ahead of the 2024 Finals in light of increased competition. Revenant’s next challenge now is the March Monthly Finals, where they compete with top teams from Asia.
Revenant Esports announces new addition to main lineup
Takuya “Menmi” Kitano and Kenji “Ken-G” Oda have joined the Brawl Stars team for Revenant Esports. They have retained Ashmit “Sergeant Clash” Singh, who was their IGL going into the 2023 World Championships.
Revenant, who was already the champion team from India in last year’s monthly qualifiers, now wants to do better in this year’s championship. There is an increased challenge due to the restructuring of the regions. Supercell has merged India with the other Asian teams into the Asia-Pacific region. That may have prompted Revenant to go for overseas talent.
Menmi, who played for REJECT last year, won multiple East Asian Monthly Finals. He has previously appeared in the 2021 World Championship, and that will definitely add loads of experience to Revenant Esports. Ken-G, who earlier played for Zeta Division Zero, went on to secure second place at the 2022 Championship finals.
Sergeant Clash, meanwhile, has appeared for Revenant Esports for the last two years. They have won the monthly regional finals and finished in 7th place in last year’s championship. With the new talents on board, they are aiming for a higher finish this year.
Details on 2024 Brawl Stars Championship
The 2024 Brawl Stars Championship will have a combined prize pool of 2 million dollars. This is the first time we will see a crowdfunded addition to the prize money. This will be similar to Dota 2’s premier tournament, where players can purchase in-game items that go into the championship prize pool.
A total of 12 teams will participate in the finals. Eight teams will qualify through five seasonal monthly finals, while the other four will qualify through the last-chance qualifiers. There will be a total of 12 slots for teams competing in the LCQ from 5 regions.
Teams that compete in the seasonal tournaments will acquire BSC points that will keep them on the leaderboard. This will run every month from March to July. The top eight teams from here will qualify directly for the 2024 Championship Finals.
