Anthony Davis sets new NBA record in dominant Lakers’ triumph against Timberwolves

In a thrilling matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers backed an astonishing victory on Sunday. With just a month before the postseason, the Lakers are gaining the required momentum to make the playoffs.

While LeBron with 29 points led the way for the LA Laker’s 120-109 victory over the Timberwolves, we got to see Anthony Davis putting up monster numbers for his team, putting up a stat line that has never been seen before in the NBA.

Anthony Davis sets unique NBA record

Due to several injuries over the years, Davis was not able to give his 100 percent on the court, and so NBA fans have forgotten how dominant Anthony Davis can be when he’s completely healthy. Fortunately, this season has been a redeeming season for Anthony Davis, as he’s putting up amazing performances on the court now and then.

To showcase his dominance last night, Davis put up a unique stat line, scoring 27 points with 25 rebounds and 5 assists, including 7 steals and 3 blocks, making him the first player in NBA history to record such numbers in a single game.

Davis also became the first player since Shaquille O’Neal to record 25+ points and 25+ rebounds in a single game and the first player to record 25+ points, 25+ rebounds with 5+ assists, and 5+ steals in a single-ball game.

Lakers defeat Timberwolves

In a match that showcased brilliant synergy between the teammates, which resulted in a huge victory over the 2nd seed of the Western Conference, each player did a good job to secure the victory for the Lakers. Davis, with his historic night, also acted as a catalyst for the Purple and Gold to ensure their success.

It was a neck-to-neck competition throughout the game until the 4th quarter, when the Lakers took the leap and dominated the opposing team by scoring 29 points and limiting the Timberwolves to just 17 points. However, the Timberwolves were tough to beat even without their key performers like Karl Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.

The Lakers have improved their record to 36-30 and are currently ranked 9th in the Western Conference. With only 16 regular-season games remaining before the playoffs, the Lakers are trying hard to avoid the play-in tournament and solidify their spot in the playoffs, and if they play with the same intensity and maintain their momentum, they will pose a problem to other teams in the West.
