Sean Strickland denounces possible Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira bout, demands Dricus Du Plessis rematch: “I don’t care about fight politics”

Sean Strickland became a prominent name in the UFC after defeating Israel Adesanya for the UFC Middleweight Championship Title in UFC 293. However, Sean had lost the title to Dricus Du Plessis in UFC 297 due to loss by split decision.

Sean is known for his candidness when it comes to opinions. As a person who believes in speaking his mind, he always seems to not care whether his opinions are politically correct or not.

Sean Strickland shares candid thoughts on Adesanya vs Pereira rematch

Sean was deeply disappointed by the UFC’s actions. He couldn’t shake off the feeling of betrayal. It seemed unfair to him that while Adesanya was granted a rematch with Pereira after losing, Strickland didn’t receive the same opportunity to rematch Du Plessis. This discrepancy between how fighters were treated left Sean feeling appalled and disillusioned with the UFC.

In his Twitter post, he mentions that he doesn’t care about a belt or fighting politics but wishes for another shot at Du Plessis, as Sean believes that the decision made was faulty. He mentions how everyone who saw the fight, including Dana White, thought that victory would be awarded to Sean.

Even though the statistics of the fight were in his favor, he seemed to have lost the fight. Sean demands a rematch against Dricus, as he finds it bizarre that Adesanya got the rematch but Sean did not.

Sean Strickland wants rematch against Dricus Du Plessis

Sean Strickland has resorted to speaking up against this discrepancy on Twitter. He mentions how championship title holders never lose close fights as they are always in the champion’s favor, but this time the results were not.

Sean believes that the reason he lost his bout against Du Plessis was because he said politically incorrect things during the press conferences that were held before the fight. He believes that the result was a faulty one because no one wanted Sean to win. In his Twitter post, he blames Canadians, stating that he is surrounded by a “bunch of dirty leftists.”

It is only fair that Strickland gets his rematch against DDP sometime in the near future. Sean will be training hard if he gets a chance to prove himself and his fans right. The likeliness of a rematch happening is not slim as Sean is a very popular name in the Industry and his voice will be heard.
