Pokimane fresh ‘Myna Snacks’ partners with Stanley Cups after cookie brand controversy

Myna Snacks, the cookie brand of Twitch streamer Pokimane, had a rough time selling cookies last year. To turn things around, they’ve teamed up with Stanley 1913 to make a special mug with the Myna logo.

This collaboration aims to boost the sales of Myna cookies after their rocky launch last year. People were critical of its price, with Pokimane coming under scrutiny for her response to the issue. Stanley Cups, meanwhile, shot to fame last year on TikTok, with people scrambling to get their hands on one. Target had to limit its sales, with demand reaching an all-time high.

Pokimane ‘Myna Snacks’ collabs with Stanley cups

Myna Snacks has announced a collaboration to bring 100 limited Stanley Cups to the market. Fans of the brand can purchase it for 55 dollars on Myna’s website. It is the standard 40-ounce Stanley Cup tumbler. Right now, it is available in only a cream color with the brand’s logo in a shade of silver.

Myna is also offering a 15% discount on its Mini Cookies to those purchasing the branded Stanley Cups. The brand has not announced any plans to restock the cup once the sale ends. So, fans of the brand need to act quickly to get their hands on this limited item.

Explaining the Pokimane Myna Cookies Controversy

Pokimane and ex-Kelloggs CEO Darcey Macken launched the Myna cookies brand late last year. It brought mini cookies flavored with chocolate, almond, and coconut flour. The target audience was anyone behind a desk, either working or gaming, looking for a healthy plant-based snack to munch on between breaks. It launched in 4, 8, and 12 packs with prices of 28, 56, and 84 dollars.

The controversy started when people started to compare it with Toatzy Mini Cookies. Many felt that it was similar to the brand while costing a lot more. For reference, Toatzy’s pack of 14-ounce cookies used to cost $9.99. Myna is selling the 4-pack of 16-ounce cookies for $28.

Pokimane stated that while Toatzy was discontinued, Myna was not a rebranding of it. They are using different ingredients to make the Mini Cookie different from others. She referred to those complaining about the price as ‘broke boys’ and was quick to state that a single pack only costs 7 dollars.

This statement caused many to criticize her. One even labeled her as having never had the ‘correct response’ to controversies.

In the aftermath of the backlash, the streamer apologized for her words, saying that they were intended as a joke. She even assured that the brand would look into the pricing to make it more affordable for everybody.
