Conor McGregor seeks three-round bout against Michael Chandler, denies UFC beef rumors: “Consistency breeds quality”

In a recent interview, Conor McGregor shared details about his expected comeback bout scheduled to be against Michael Chandler. Having shared the spotlight with McGregor on The Ultimate Fighter before, Chandler has had eyes on the Irishman since May of last year.

McGregor also shut down rumors that were brought about in the news recently due to Conor’s vocal callout to the UFC for denying McGregor the Nate Diaz fight.

Conor McGregor shares details on Michael Chandler bout

Conor McGregor shared further details about his expected comeback to Ariel Helwani, host of the MMA Hour.

“I’m happy with where I am. The call has been made. So you know? ‘The MAC is back this summer!” said Conor.

“I’m happy with the time I have leading upto the fight. I’m happy with everything. In God’s name. I’m ecstatic,” added McGregor.

It seems that instead of providing a confirmed date, McGregor’s team has informed the UFC that Conor would be in shape and ready to enter the Octagon as soon as ‘this summer’. Conor can also be expected to feature in a main card during International Fight Week, which falls between June 24th and June 30th.

Further sharing details about his training, Conor said that he had two separate training camps before the PR tours of his Hollywood debut Film, Roadhouse, started to roll out. Conor previously expressed that he ‘lost motivation’ after the camps as the UFC had no details about Conor’s comeback.

Conor McGregor settles UFC feud speculations

Talking further about how pleased McGregor is with how everything is expected to play out, Conor couldn’t help but mention that there is absolutely no issue between him and the UFC.

“People want to make a big deal out of it. There’s no issue. I’m happy where I’m at with the UFC. It’s always great doing business with them,” concluded McGregor, dispelling any speculations of conflict that the media had previously reported.

Conor previously shared ‘a lack of motivation’ when he doesn’t ‘get anything from the UFC.’ He had shared that he went through two separate fight camps, one in Dubai and the other in Cannes, but stopped training shortly after UFC didn’t provide him with any further matchup details.

Having 2 fights still left in his contract, “The Notorious” said that there have been no talks about re-signing the contract with the UFC, but said that he would be happy to.
