Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars began with 13 contestants, including former NBA player Dwight Howard. Many thought he wouldn’t do well because he isn’t a professional dancer, but the 38-year-old shocked everyone with his performance, which is now breaking the internet.
On Tuesday night, Dwight Howard and his partner Daniella Karagach wowed the judges with a salsa to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.” Scoring 22 out of 30, the eight-time NBA champion impressed both the judges and the crowd with his debut performance.
After the show, Dwight Howard shared why he joined Dancing With the Stars: “Really, for my son. He’s here in the audience, Trey Howard. I always tell him that he can do all things through Christ. My son. Philippians 4:13, man, you can do anything you put your mind to.”
The best part of Dwight’s salsa dance was when he added the “nae nae” move. However, people were mostly surprised by the height difference between Dwight (6’10″) and Daniella (5’3″). Even with this difference, they both did an amazing job and impressed everyone.
