Janel Grant’s Team Opens Up About Vince McMahon And WWE’s Toxic Culture

With WWE RAW moving to Netflix next year, the streaming service launched the docuseries “Mr. McMahon” to introduce wrestling to its audience. This brings former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon back into the spotlight.

The series covers several scandals and allegations against him, but many viewers, including alleged victim Janel Grant, found it unsatisfying and criticized the show.

Just after the release, Grant’s attorney said the docuseries only “scratched the surface” of McMahon’s behavior, and her team has recently shared more insights.

Grant’s team says that McMahon used tricks and control in his personal and professional life. One surprising story from the show involves McMahon acting inappropriately with a female worker and making upsetting comments about his daughter, Stephanie McMahon.

Besides Grant’s claims, many former WWE workers and wrestlers have shared similar stories of being treated badly. These stories show how Stamford-based promotion cared more about making money than about the well-being of its employees.

Matt Hardy shares his “conflicted” feelings on Vince McMahon

Former WWE Superstar Matt Hardy has mixed feelings about the current charges against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon. In his Extreme Life podcast, he discussed McMahon’s difficulty with the subject in question. Hardy claimed it was important to hold strong people responsible, regardless of their power.

He said, “It’s awful. Anytime someone does something terrible like that, especially if it is a criminal sexual act, it’s awful. I’ll say that right up front…I think in society, if you do bad and terrible things, you also need to be held accountable for them.”
