Luka Dončić Highlights Klay Thompson’s Role in Mavs’

The Dallas Mavericks kicked off their offseason with a big move. They knew they had to improve their 3-point shooting after losing to the Celtics in the NBA Finals. So, they hired Klay Thompson early in the off-season to fix this.

Klay Thompson’s departure from the Warriors after 13 years made headlines. While it was a big loss for Stephen Curry and the Warriors, the Mavericks gained a huge boost, with Thompson joining Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Luka said in a recent press conference that he is very excited to have Klay on the team and thinks Klay will help them win a championship. He said, “When me and Kai, when we have the ball, you basically can’t help off of Klay.”

He added, “Because if you leave him wide open, he’s going to make it. So I think the spacing is going to be crucial for us, but more of that, I will tell you after a couple games.”

It’s clear that No. 31 is ready to make an immediate impact with Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving. His teammates are thrilled to have him on board, and Kyrie shares the excitement about Klay joining the team.

Kyrie Irving says Klay Thompson brings Mavericks’ dreams to life

Everyone was shocked when Dallas made it to the NBA Finals in 2024, but the Boston Celtics beat them. One big reason they lost was that they couldn’t shoot well. That should change now that Klay Thompson is with the team.

During a recent media chat, Kyrie Irving discussed how Thompson’s expertise in winning championships can help the Mavericks improve and try to win another one.

Irving said, “I feel like our dreams can be possible because he’s here now. He’s added a great value to our championship aspirations.”
