LeBron James And Bronny James Share Their Feelings On Playing Together For The First Time

LeBron James and his elder son made history on Sunday as the first father-son duo to hit the NBA court together during the Lakers’ preseason game against the Suns. LeBron shared that all the expectations he had about the moment just disappeared as soon as it happened. Meanwhile, Bronny also opened up about his feelings, sharing just how meaningful the experience was for him.

The Lakers took a hit against the Suns in their preseason game over in Palm Desert, California, but honestly, no one was really stressing about the loss. The sight of LeBron James and his son Bronny sharing the court thrilled the fans most despite some controversy around Coach JJ Redick’s decisions.

After the game, LeBron expressed his thoughts, saying, “Not real. Still kind of getting used to that, but it’s pretty cool for both of us and especially for our family. It’s pretty cool. … Definitely, a moment that I will never forget. For a father, it means everything.”

He also tweeted, “WOW THAT WAS SURREAL!! 🥺🙌🏾,” expressing his excitement over the special moment. Bronny James was just as excited about sharing the court with his dad, especially since it happened on his 20th birthday.

Reflecting on the moment, Bronny said, “I’m always thinking about ‘That’s my dad’ because that’s literally my dad. When I’m playing, he’s just my teammate. That’s all I’m thinking at that point.”

After a long wait, LeBron James and Bronny finally shared the NBA court together. Although Bronny didn’t score, it was still a special experience for the James family and head coach JJ Redick.

After the game, Redick shared his thoughts on the decision to play them together. Khobi Price summarized Redick’s remarks on his Twitter handle. He noted, “JJ Redick said that he chose to play LeBron and Bronny James together at the start of the 2Q because he wanted to give them a chance to play together in preseason within the flow of the game.
