Veteran ring announcer Lilian Garcia has returned to WWE after Samantha Irvin’s official departure on Monday. WWE introduced Garcia during a commercial break during “WWE Raw,” sharing the moment on social media. Fans who weren’t aware of the switch were surprised to see Garcia back in action as the announcer.
Joe Tessitore announced that Samantha Irvin is leaving WWE before the first match on Monday. He also welcomed Lilian Garcia back as the ring announcer who introduced the match between The New Day and The Authors of Pain.
During a commercial break, Tessitore asked the audience to give her a warm welcome. She told the fans it was wonderful to be back in Philadelphia as the “Raw” announcer. On Twitter, WWE welcomed Lilian Garcia back with the message, “Welcome back, @LilianGarcia! ❤️”
With Alicia Taylor on SmackDown and Mike Rome on NXT, Garcia’s return is a special moment for fans who remember her from her time with WWE between 1999 and 2009, and again from 2011 to 2016.
