Indiana Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton had a rough shooting night in the season opener against the Detroit Pistons, but he found a way to make light of it by playfully blaming Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry.
Steph Curry and Tyrese Haliburton competed for Team USA in the Paris Olympics. While Haliburton did not play much during the gold medal run, he did spend more than a month as Curry’s teammate.
However, after struggling with his shooting in the season opener, Haliburton joked that Curry gave him poor advice. During the Olympics, Steph Curry suggested Haliburton try taking a pregame nap. Haliburton, who normally doesn’t nap, decided to give it a try. But it didn’t work for him.
The Pacers’ point guard said, “Honestly speaking I’m probably going to blame Steph because he convinced me to try out pregame naps because I told him I don’t nap. And he told me to try it out and text him after the game… So he’ll be getting a text from me shortly. No more pregame naps for Tyrese.”
Curry, who is busy playing in his season opener against the Blazers, hasn’t responded to Haliburton’s playful blame just yet.
Steph Curry shares two-word message before NBA season opener
Before the Golden State Warriors’ season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers, Steph Curry shared a short but powerful message with fans: “Lock In! #DubNation.” With Klay Thompson sidelined, fans naturally miss the iconic Splash Brothers duo and wonder how the Warriors will perform. However, Curry seems more than ready for the challenge.
At 36, Curry remains the greatest shooter of all time. Despite the hurdles, including Klay’s absence, his message shows he’s focused on leading the team forward. With new additions like Buddy Hield and promising young talents, there’s still hope for a strong season ahead. The Warriors are already making a statement, looking set for a big win against the Blazers.
