Former Lakers Guard Beverley on What Motivates LeBron James To Keep Pushing Forward

Drafted first by his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in 2003, LeBron James has never looked back. Now, even at 39 years old and in his 22nd NBA season, he’s still playing great. Some people may doubt him due to his age, but former Lakers guard Patrick Beverley recently revealed that LeBron has a new motivation to push his limit this season that he was lacking in previous years.

During the latest episode of his podcast, the former Lakers guard talked about how Bronny James joining the team helps LeBron. He said having Bronny on the bench gives LeBron James extra motivation, which is beneficial for the whole team.

He said, “The motivation is on ‘Bron to put in front of his son. Don’t send him to the G League. Yeah ‘Bron need to see his shorty out there on every bench. I see my son out there after I hit a mother******* with a fade, Ima hit another mother******* with another fade. Cause my son right there.”

Beverley also made a bold prediction about his former team, declaring that the Lakers, led by LeBron James and first-year head coach JJ Redick, will secure a top-4 seed in the Western Conference this season.

JJ Redick explodes after LeBron James’ 24-second shot-clock violation

During a game against the Phoenix Suns, Lakers coach JJ Redick got awful when LeBron James didn’t shoot in time. This happened in the second quarter when the team was struggling to get a decent shot, leading to a turnover.

With about eight minutes left, the shot clock was running down. LeBron had the ball but didn’t shoot before time ran out, which caused the violation. It’s unclear if he didn’t notice the clock or didn’t shoot because he didn’t have a good chance.

Redick’s frustrated reaction quickly went viral on social media, and everyone started talking about it. LeBron really had a tough night against the Suns, scoring only 11 points. Afterward, he told the press that his bad showing was because he was sick.
