What Happened to TJ Watt? Steelers Star Exits Week 15 Matchup against Eagles

Week 15 of the NFL has been tough with so many players getting hurt. This is the third big injury after Patrick Mahomes and Grant DuBose. The latest news is that the Steelers lost their game badly, and TJ Watt’s leg injury might be a big reason for it.

The injury took place at the last moment of the game. With less than five minutes left in the game, TJ Watt tried to get past Eagles tackle Lane Johnson but fell to the ground, holding his left foot and ankle. Even though he was hurt, Watt walked off the field on his own, which was literally a good sign, but concern is still there.

The injury comes at a tough time for the Steelers, with playoffs just weeks away. After his injury, Watt was checked into the medical tent and didn’t return, which later created significant questions in many minds.

This is because losing him now, with the AFC North title on the line and a crucial game against the Ravens approaching, would be a significant setback.

TJ Watt’s injury update

Steelers star T.J. Watt shared a positive update after his ankle injury. X-rays showed no fractures, but his status for Week 16 against the Ravens remains uncertain.

“T.J. said he rolled his ankle, and X-rays were negative,” reported Mike DeFabo of The Athletic. When asked about playing next week, Watt replied, “We’ll have to wait and see.”

Coach Mike Tomlin called it a “low-ankle injury,” which is better than a high-ankle sprain that could sideline Watt for weeks.
