Jon Moxley Gets Hit by “The Shield Powerbomb” at AEW Worlds End

The Shield was a legendary WWE faction featuring Jon Moxley, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. After splitting up, all three became major stars with their own signature moves. But back in their prime, they had a devastating move together—the iconic triple powerbomb.

Recently, at an AEW pay-per-view event, fans were surprised with what seemed like a tribute to The Shield’s famous powerbomb. It was a nostalgic moment that brought back memories of their unstoppable run in WWE.

Jon Moxley faced Jay White, Orange Cassidy, and Hangman Page in an exciting four-way match. During the action, the challengers teamed up, hit Moxley with a Superman punch on the mat, and triple-powerbombed him through the commentary table, just like The Shield used to do.

Following the significant, powerful signature move, he remained motionless for a considerable amount of time. But Moxley’s team, the Death Riders, came to his rescue and helped him keep his AEW World Championship. Later, FTR and Adam Copeland returned, which was the biggest surprise of the night.

Adam Copeland aims to take AEW World Title from Jon Moxley

At AEW Worlds End 2024, Adam Copeland made a big surprise return to AEW. During the AEW Worlds End post-show, Leo from The Wrestling Classic asked Copeland about his plans, and he made it clear that he wants to face Moxley.

He said, “My plan is to go after Jon Moxley in a match that we’ve never seen before, between two guys who are at the top of their field, and go out there and go what we do, which is to have kickass, old, grinding, gritty NWA World Heavyweight Title matches type vibe.”
