Cavaliers’ Stay Unbeaten on Road Trip with Win Over Mavericks

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ road trip started on December 30, 2024, with a game against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco. They managed to win all their games during this trip, including the recent victory over the Dallas Mavericks, making it a “perfect” road trip.

The Cavaliers extended their win streak to nine games with a big 134-122 victory over the Mavericks, wrapping up a perfect road trip. This win improved the Cavaliers’ season record to 30-4, while the Mavericks dropped to 20-15 with their fourth straight loss.

The Cavaliers went on a 20-point run, turning a 21-17 deficit into a 37-21 lead in the second quarter. They controlled the first half, scoring 18 points from turnovers while only giving up two turnovers. Their biggest lead was 27 points.

Caris LeVert added 17 points off the bench, and Evan Mobley led the team with 34 points and 10 rebounds, the highest in the game. The Mavericks were missing their All-Star guards, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, which might be why they couldn’t keep up with the Cavaliers’ nearly perfect game.

Kyrie Irving misses Mavericks vs Cavaliers game due to illness

Kyrie Irving missed Friday night’s Mavericks game against the Cavaliers because he was sick, joining Luka Doncic, who is out with a strained calf. Doncic got injured on Christmas Day and will be checked later this month.

Irving’s absence hurt the Mavericks, who have been struggling without their star players. The team has lost three of their last four games, all on the road. With both players out, the Mavericks face a tough time as they try to compete in the challenging Western Conference.
