California’s wildfires have hit hard, with Los Angeles among the cities affected. The fires have forced evacuations, disrupting lives and industries, including sports. The NFL playoffs are feeling the impact as well.
Due to the disaster, the wild-card game between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, originally scheduled for Monday at SoFi Stadium, has been postponed to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Wildfires have burnt thousands of acres and forced people to leave their homes. To ensure safety, the NFL relocated the game, citing air quality concerns and pressure on emergency services. Officials, both teams and the NFLPA confirmed the move after consultation.
The safety of the LA community is our top priority. As of now, our Wild Card playoff game remains scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night. As with all games, the NFL has contingency plans in the event a change in location is needed.

Updated 2025 NFL playoff wild card weekend
The NFL playoff schedule is set but was adjusted due to California’s wildfire situation. The postseason kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 11, with the Texans hosting the Chargers on CBS and Paramount+. Wild Card Weekend features six games.
Saturday, Jan. 11
- Chargers at (4) Texans
- Steelers at (3) Ravens
Sunday, Jan. 12
- Broncos at (2) Bills,
- Packers at (2) Eagles
- Commanders at (3) Buccaneers
my completely uninformed wildcard schedule guess

Saturday
Broncos at Bills
Packers at Eagles
Sunday
Commanders at Bucs
Chargers at Texans
Steelers at Ravens
Monday
Lions/Vikings at Rams
Could see the Chargers-Texans game swap with any of the two saturday games
The last Wild Card Weekend game is on Monday, January 13, with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Minnesota Vikings. The game was supposed to be in Los Angeles, but it had to be moved to Arizona because of wildfires in Southern California, which is more than 300 miles away.
