AJ Styles Shares Challenging Injury Update with WWE Fans

AJ Styles has been out since October 4, 2024, after getting a Lisfranc injury during a match with Carmelo Hayes on WWE SmackDown. The injury was a complete accident and happened just as AJ was starting his farewell tour.

It’s been over three months now, and fans have been waiting for news about his return. Unfortunately, the latest update Styles shared with one of his fans wasn’t positive.

After his WWE title feud with Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle last June, AJ Styles took a break from TV. Rumors suggested that his October return would initiate a retirement storyline for the 47-year-old legend. However, plans changed because of the Lisfranc injury.

It affects the middle of the foot, can involve broken bones or torn ligaments, and has ended the careers of some athletes. While AJ hasn’t shared full details, he admitted on his social media handle that the diagnosis left him feeling “cooked.”

Since then, there was no new update regarding his return and recovery time. But during SmackDown on January 10, a fan reached out to him on social media, asking about his return. In response to that fan, The “Phenomenal One” wrote, “I’ll be honest, this injury is challenging.”

AJ Styles speaks out on TNA Hall of Fame

TNA wanted to honor AJ Styles by adding him to their Hall of Fame because he was a big part of their early success. However, AJ decided to turn down the honor. Fans were confused, and some thought WWE had something to do with his choice. But AJ said the decision was his and not WWE’s.

He expressed on Twitter his desire to remain an active wrestler and not be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He said, “I’m still an active wrestler…I hope. I made the decision not to go into the TNA HOF, not WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to go into any HOF as long as I’m still active. My choice.”
