CM Punk, one of WWE’s top wrestlers, is currently at his peak due to his intense feud with Seth Rollins. However, at 46 years old, his retirement might be getting closer, as it was around this age that John Cena decided to retire.
Even though he’s a bit older, Punk believes he still has a lot to contribute to the company. Given that, some fans have suggested he dye his hair and beard to look younger, but Punk took these comments as criticism of his age.
He recently responded to this suggestion, making it clear how he feels about it. In an interview with Jackie Redmond, CM Punk opened up about how he handles criticism, especially when it comes to his appearance. He shared that he doesn’t mind the gray hair and beard, seeing them as a symbol of everything he’s been through.
He said, “I 100% embrace it. To me, these grays, I’ve earned them. These just tell stories. It’s the roads I’ve traveled, it’s the bumps and the bruises that I’ve taken, it’s the injuries that I’ve survived.”
Punk added, “My face is a roadmap, I would not remove a scar, I wouldn’t dye my hair, dye my beard. This is me, and I was me when I first wrestled at 15 years old, and I’m me at 46, and I will always 100% be truly, unapologetically one of one, CM Punk.”
CM Punk addresses his uncertain wrestling future
In a recent interview with WWE’s Jackie Redmond, CM Punk opened up about his uncertain wrestling future, acknowledging that while he feels great at the moment, he knows his time in the ring is limited. At 46 years old, Punk is aware that his career may be nearing its end, but he is not setting a specific date for retirement.
Punk compared his situation to that of John Cena, noting that he sees himself on a similar path but without the grand announcements. He said, “I never know when my last match is going to be, and you see guys like John Cena doing a full-blown retirement tour.”
He added, “I look at myself like I’m on the same road as John, maybe just not egotistical enough to announce to everybody, ‘Hey, this is it.’ I’m not setting a limit on anything.”
