John Cena’s loss in the Royal Rumble, where he finished as the runner-up, shocked and disappointed everyone at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Fans had hoped that he would win and challenge for the WWE Undisputed Championship to win his 17th title.
But in the final moments, Jey Uso won instead, crushing those hopes in an instant. Despite the shocking loss, the 16-time champion is still determined to win his 17th WWE title at WrestleMania 41 because he believes it’s the best for business.
The last time John Cena appeared on Raw for Netflix’s debut, he said he wanted to win his 17th title but wasn’t sure if it would happen since it was up to the company.
However, after his shocking loss to Jey Uso at Royal Rumble 2025, his attitude has changed. Now, he sounds more like a “heel,” clearly stating that no matter what, he knows winning the 17th title at WrestleMania 41 is best for business.
At the #RoyalRumble press-conference @JohnCena didn’t answer any questions. He elaborately made this clear emphatically. He’s going to win #WWEChamber, headline #Wrestlemania , and win that 17th title, and I quote……..

During the post-Royal Rumble press conference, Cena said, “Unfortunately tonight, it dawned on me that that’s not best for business. What is best for business is I main event WrestleMania, and what is best for business is, for the first time, I confidently say that I’m gonna win a 17th championship.”
John Cena reveals his next return to Elimination Chamber
John Cena made a big announcement after being eliminated from the 2025 Royal Rumble. He said he will compete at the Elimination Chamber to earn a spot in the WrestleMania main event.
This means Cena will be off WWE TV for the next month. Last year, reports said he would be more active in WWE for his retirement tour. But now, he seems busy again with Hollywood.
Cena shared that he is flying to Hungary to film a movie but made it clear, “I am going to the Elimination Chamber to win, and I’m going to main event my final appearance in WrestleMania.”
