Former NBA Swingman Rips Mavericks Owner Over Luka Doncic Trade Decision

The trade between the Mavs and Lakers for Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis was one of the biggest topics in the NBA this week. Both players were top-tier stars for their teams and were seen as untouchable.

But despite that, both teams made that bold move, which sparked a lot of talk online. Former NBA player Jalen Rose also joined the conversation recently.

Former NBA player and ESPN analyst Jalen Rose has strongly criticized the Dallas Mavericks for trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers. He called it a big mistake and blamed the team for not supporting Doncic who has already made All-NBA five times and led them to the Finals.

Rose shared his thoughts on social media, saying, “Dear Dallas Mavs, if you’re not willing to pay Luka, you might as well sell the team! I’ll be very direct about what I think. Y’all could talk about him being out of shape… y’all could talk about his lifestyle, his bad habits.”

He added, “Here’s what I do know: he’s 25-years-old, he’s been All-NBA five times and he just led y’all to the Finals!!” Not just Rose, but even celebrities like Mark Cuban cut jokes about the trade online.

Mark Cuban jokes about trading Luka Doncic with Bill Gates

Mark Cuban, the former owner of the Dallas Mavericks, joked with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates about the recent Luka Doncic trade. Cuban asked Gates how he would feel if, after leaving Microsoft, he found out that Steve Ballmer, the new CEO, traded Windows 11 for the older Windows 10.

Cuban said, “I’ve had a rough week. If after you left Microsoft, you found out that Steve Ballmer traded Windows 11—like, the new hot operating system—for Windows 10, the Hall of Fame but older operating system, what would you do?”

Gates, understanding the challenging situation regarding Luka Doncic and Cuban’s humor in the question, responded with humor, saying, “I might have to hide from the press.”
