The highly anticipated Super Bowl just ended in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the Eagles dominated both in the stadium and on the field. They won by 18 points against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Among the many notable attendees at this huge event was none other than President Donald Trump, whose presence added even more excitement to the Eagles’ Super Bowl win.
As the first sitting president ever to attend the big game, Donald Trump saw the Eagles win 40-22, but he left feeling a bit disappointed since his support was for the Chiefs.
Trump’s presence in the stadium was felt everywhere. As he entered, the crowd cheered, but there were also some boos. The crowd really erupted when he appeared on the Jumbotron during the National Anthem.

While talking about his support for the Chiefs, Trump told Fox News’ Bret Baier that he liked both teams, but had to go with Kansas City. He praised quarterback Patrick Mahomes and mentioned that Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, is a “Trump fan, a MAGA fan.”
It’s no surprise that Trump leaned toward the Chiefs, given his history with the Eagles, making his choice for Kansas City seem pretty obvious.
Donald Trump clashed with the Eagles in the past
Donald Trump has had some disagreements with the Philadelphia Eagles, even before he went to Super Bowl LIX. During his tenure as president from 2017 to 2021, he often criticized the team and its players.
One big moment was in 2018 when Trump disinvited the Eagles from visiting the White House after some players said they wouldn’t go because of racial injustice. Trump tweeted that he was disappointed and called the players “disrespectful,” canceling the visit.
I really hope the rumors are true that the Eagles are going to turn down the invitation to visit Donald Trump after he gaslit the team in 2018 for kneeling to the national anthem when they didn’t and disinvited them from the visiting White House. pic.twitter.com/MT0NgLIV5k

As the Eagles celebrated their win, Trump’s presence reminded people of how sports and politics can mix. Still, it was interesting to see the AFC and NFC champions play for the championship, with the president supporting the losing team.
