The Golden State Warriors honored iconic Andre Iguodala by retiring his jersey after their big 126-102 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night at the Chase Center.
Andre Iguodala, who helped the Warriors win four NBA championships, had his No. 9 jersey lifted into the rafters. He became the first player from the Warriors’ dynasty to receive this honor. The ceremony happened right after the game, letting fans and former teammates celebrate together.
It made sense for the Warriors to choose this day because Klay Thompson, a former star who was traded to the Mavs this season, was also in the arena wearing a Mavs jersey. It was a planned tribute to make sure all Warriors stars were part of the special occasion.
