The WWE Universe is still in shock after John Cena’s surprising heel turn at Elimination Chamber 2025, held at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. No one ever imagined that Cena, after such a long wrestling career, would turn heel during his retirement tour.
The 16-time world champion teamed up with The Rock and Travis Scott to attack Cody Rhodes. Triple H later explained how they came up with this surprising storyline—something no WWE fan ever saw coming.
When The Rock became a good guy and had a friendly chat with Cody Rhodes, many fans were upset with Triple H for changing their relationship without explaining why. Everyone was focused on The Rock, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns. That’s when Triple H surprised everyone by adding John Cena to the mix.

At the post-show press conference, Triple H said, “I’ve been fortunate to be around a lot of the biggest things in this business in the last 30 years, I don’t know if I’ve ever felt a more powerful moment … you just didn’t see this moment coming.”
Now, looking back, it all makes sense. Remember at last year’s Bad Blood event when The Rock made a three-finger gesture? If you flip that gesture, it actually matches John Cena’s famous three-finger salute.
Triple H hints at possible Women’s main event at WrestleMania 41
At the press conference, Triple H shared his thoughts on WrestleMania 41 and how the main event will be decided. Traditionally, the men’s WWE Championship match takes the spotlight, but this time, Triple H seems open to giving the women’s division a bigger opportunity.

He explained, “Nothing is locked in. I believe, for talent, that is the best way to do it. Let everybody fight over the spot. Let everybody work their ass off and everybody try to do what we’re trying to do, which is do things outside the box and do things people haven’t seen.”
Triple H encouraged all WWE superstars to prove they deserve the main event, regardless of gender. If WWE moves in this direction, it could bring a major shift in how WrestleMania is booked. With Jade Cargill back in action, a strong storyline could make a women’s main event more possible than ever.
