Myles Garrett, a defensive end for the Browns, reportedly requested a trade to another franchise. Just when everyone thought he was leaving, NFL reporter Adam Schefter said the Browns and Garrett made a new deal.
The big surprise is that this deal made Garrett the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The staggering amount of money involved in this mega deal has caught everyone’s attention, including Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.
According to the latest report, Myles Garrett has signed a $160 million deal over four years, with $123.5 million guaranteed, with the Cleveland Browns. Even on a day when most people were focusing on college basketball, the big contract grabbed everyone’s attention.
Shout out to Myles Garrett, who got a massive new 4-year extension with the Browns and will stay in Cleveland.

🏈 Avg. $40 million per year
🏈 $122.8 million guaranteed
🏈 Highest paid non-QB in the NFL
And shout out to super agent Nicole Lynn, who negotiated the deal.✊🏾💰 pic.twitter.com/ITSTMkgfjQ
Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons quickly reacted to the news on social media. Known for his strong game and sense of humor, he posted a simple yet funny response: “Lol yooo wtf.” His reaction summed up how shocked many people felt about the deal.

This massive contract sets a new standard for players who aren’t quarterbacks. Since Parsons is also working on his contract, Garrett’s deal will likely influence his negotiations with the Cowboys.
Myles Garrett faces backlash following his massive contract
So, you know how it goes—he initially asked for a trade because he was looking for a shot at winning a Super Bowl with another team. He even made several appearances in the media and issued a disrespectful statement against the Browns’ front office.
Now that he’s signed a new deal with the Browns, fans have mixed reactions. Many people are confused about why the Browns signed a player with such a huge deal if he wasn’t committed and wanted to be moved, especially since he’s not even a QB.
The Browns paying a guy who clearly doesn't want to be there so much money to stay is dumb on both sides. Myles Garrett is not the guy to take that team anywhere and the Browns FO is going to do nothing to make the team better.

Way to go Browns! You got your quarterback and the biggest trade and guaranteed contract in history. Now you got Myles Garrett for the biggest non-quarterback contract in history. Don’t get me wrong he has been the best player, but history is not on your side. GM AB is garbage!

I’m legitimately still in complete shock from the Myles Garrett extension.

I do think there was a part of him that truly wanted out, it wasn’t ALL about money. He even got his no-trade clause in the new deal (leverage).
The vision he was sold clearly changed, but how?
Yeah, I don’t even know what to make of this right now. He just bad-mouthed the organization on every media spot he could find.
