Chicago Sky’s star Angel Reese made headlines after her team won the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league championship. The big win earned Reese and her teammates a $50,000 bonus.
After the victory, fellow WNBA player Sydney Colson jokingly asked Reese to share some of the bucks. Reese refused to do so, and her lighthearted response caught everyone’s attention.
The sweet drama unfolded on social media when Sydney Colson, a guard for the Indiana Fever, jokingly reached out to Reese, offering to “help” her spend the bonus.
Colson’s playful tweet read, “Hey Angel girl, just wanted to check in and see how (you’re) doing and just let you know I’m here for you if you need anything…especially if you need to get rid of $50k by tomorrow or anything like that.”
Angel Reese’s reply was funny and pretty direct. She explained that the $50,000 bonus was more than half of her rookie contract, so she needed to keep it for herself.
hey sista. i’m doing well. just won 50k on a flight. I know you are VERY aware & i’m sorry to break it to you but i’m on a rookie contract & that 50k was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself…. sorry 🙁 give me a few years and i gotchu. be… https://t.co/TgUbIgMBPy

Jason Whitlock calls out Angel Reese for skipping finals game
In a recent episode of his show “Fearless,” sports commentator Jason Whitlock criticized Angel Reese for not being at the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league finals. Reese had helped her team do well during the season but missed the last two games because of an injury.
That’s why she wasn’t at the celebration either. But, Whitlock didn’t hold back in his criticism. He felt that Reese’s absence showed she didn’t care enough about her team or the league.
He said, “This championship game was so unimportant that she said ‘Nah, I’m good… I’ll watch this stream from home and I’ll Facetime in if we win… Maybe she was joining LeBron in celebrating that. All of that is more important than being at the location, being with her teammates.”
