Stephen Curry Shares Health Update After Injury Return vs. Pelicans

Curry had been sidelined for two games due to a pelvic bruise sustained during a hard fall in a previous match against the Toronto Raptors. He returned to the court on Friday night, scoring 23 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 111-95.

Though Curry returned from his injury quickly, which is a good sign, it wasn’t the best version of him against the Pelicans. Scoring 23 points is solid, but it’s not his full potential, especially against one of the season’s weaker opponents. In the postgame interview, he shared an update on his current condition.

The two-time MVP said, “It just reminded me of 21 when I fell into the stairs in Houston. Thankfully, I didn’t break anything or have any bone damage. It is mostly just a deep, serious contusion that I’ll feel it for a while, but I can play, and I can’t make it worse as long as I don’t land on it again.”

When asked at the press conference if his back was bothering him, Curry quickly shut down all concern, saying, “I just aware of it, and I don’t know how long it’ll take, but as long as I feel like I did tonight and don’t have any other incidences where I fall on it, I should be fine.”

Steve Kerr reacts to Stephen Curry’s injury return

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was pleased with Stephen Curry’s performance after his return from a two-game break.

Kerr said Curry “looked great” and played an “excellent game,” looking just like his usual self. He also believed the time off helped Curry recharge and come back stronger.
