UFC welterweight Belal “Remember the name” Muhammad has posted a meme on his Instagram mocking UFC megastar Colby Covington!
Muhammad has been chasing a fight versus Colby Covington ever since his win against Vicente Luque at UFC Vegas:51. Belal called out Covington in his post-fight octagon interview.
But the former interim champion has been uncharacteristically nonverbal in this call out. This has prompted Belal to post the meme on his Instagram.
Covington has never been one to shy away from trolling other fighters himself. Colby infamously has bizarre nicknames for his fellow welterweight contenders. Colby has time and again used the following hilarious nicknames for his rivals: Marty Fakenewsman (Kamaru Usman), Rafael Dos Nachos (Rafael Dos Anjos), and Conman McGregor (Connor) to name a few.
But Covington is yet to say or retaliate anything back to Belal Muhammad’s call out and trolling. Belal recently rose up in the rankings after consecutive wins against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Vicente Luque.
Covington’s last fight was against Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal, the pair were long-time friends who turned into bitter enemies. Colby ground out a decision win against his rival. But the drama continued after the fight as only a few days later, Masvidal sucker-punched Covington in the streets of Miami.
Belal Muhammad is now on the verge of the welterweight title picture. He needs a fight with someone who has the star power and caliber of Covington. A win against “Chaos” would definitely land Belal a title shot.
It remains to be seen if Covington responds to Belal’s call out and internet trolling. But if Colby does respond, it is guaranteed to be a top-tier comeback as he is one of the best trash talkers in the entire UFC roster!
