‘I’ve Cried Twice Already’ Kamaru Usman Tears up Watching Sandra Bullock’s ‘The Blind Side’ Movie

UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman posted an emotional story on Instagram saying that he has cried twice even before finishing the film.

The Blind Side shows the remarkable and real story of All-American Football star Michael Oher. Oher is a homeless African-American child from a shattered home who is adopted by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family that helps him reach his full potential both on and off the football field. At the same time, Oher’s presence in the Touhys’ lives leads to some profound personal revelations.

Oher works hard as a football player and student, and thanks to his coaches and adopted family, he becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. The movie emphasizes how Oher was able to to overcome so many obstacles in his life and achieve his goals.

The Blind Side was a critically acclaimed movie. It won multiple awards across different categories, and also touched the hearts of millions. There was a particular resonance with the African-American population of America. As many African-Americans struggle in their lives, the movie brought a fresh narrative of hope.

Kamaru Usman is also African-American. His parents came here from Nigeria. Usman is very proud of his Nigerian heritage. He is never reluctant to show love for his home nation. He might not have had the same difficulties as Oher, but maybe he did relate to a lot of the sentiments shown in the film.

This assumed resonance might have left him and his daughter quite emotional while they were watching the film. It’s not just Kamaru, however, a lot of people get emotional when they see The Blind Side.

The Nigerian Nightmare is yet to return to the Octagon ever since his victory of Colby Covington. The Welterweight champion is expected to defend his welterweight crown against Leon Edwards.
