Number 3 ranked UFC welterweight Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev recently got married in a private ceremony. The wedding was held in Chechnya, Khamzat’s birth country. Khamzat had left Chechnya as a teenager, opting to go to Sweden as a refugee during the Chechen war. The Chechen warlord and dictator Ramzan Kadyrov was present at the wedding ceremony.
Khamzat Chimaev may no longer live in Chechnya, But he has been welcomed back into his hometown after he gained fame in the UFC. Khamzat’s rise in the UFC was meteoric, and that is where his friendship with the dictator started. Ramzan Kadyrov is an avid lover of combat sports and has fighting promotions of his own.
Not much could be known about Khamzat’s wedding or his newly wedded wife as the ceremony was extremely private. But video clips and snippets of the wedding have surfaced on the internet.

Ramzan Kadyrov can be seen with Khamzat’s older brother Artur Chimaev enjoying the festivities. Khamzat did not invite any media to the wedding as he likes to keep his private life away from the world. Khamzat has not posted anything related to his wedding on his Twitter or Instagram. But it looks as though no expenses were spared in the wedding! Helicopters and sports cars made appearances in the ceremony.
The Chechen-born UFC fighter jumped from #11 to #3 in the UFC welterweight rankings after he beat Gilbert “Durinho” Burns in a brutal 3-round match. This impressive win over Burns has given Khamzat the opportunity to call out the champion and the best fighters in the welterweight division. The likes of Colby Covington, Leon Edwards, and Kamaru Usman are on high alert regarding Chimaev, as he is a force to be reckoned with! He has the highest probability of dethroning the dominant welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman!
